Betty Jo designs is a cute and quirky range of jewellery that is always evolving.
Liz Jones created the Betty Jo range in 2005 and now stocks shops in Aust. and N.Z.
Liz has been designing and manufacturing jewellery for many years and has always had an interest in found and recycled materials. The Betty Jo range utilises retro lino and laminex, doilies and vintage buttons and buckles, many coming from her grandma's old button box.
The common threads that run through Liz's pieces are the memories that each medium evokes. All the materials have had another practical or decorative function and many have a story attached. These everyday items from the past have been crafted into wearable memories, like story book creatues from the enchanted wood.
No two pieces are exactly the same, as the materials dictate the final product. The fact that each piece Liz creates is unique, with all of the creatures having a personality of their own, has contributed to the success of the Betty Jo range. |
